	Rod McQueary & Sue Wallis form an eclectic collaboration as a couple of writers and poets who raise grassfat beef, and make handwrought and beautiful things out of silver, stone, native wood, leather, and anything else that strikes their fancy.

	Implementation project for the Rio Tinto Business Solution, a common approach designed around a business process model consisting of seven core processes supported by a single integrated system for RTEA (formerly Kennecott Energy) a coal mining company in Gillette, WY, and part of the Rio Tinto global mining group.

	Health & Safety Assistant – Health & Safety program administration, internal and governmental compliance. New-hire and experienced miner training,. Occupational health and safety standard champion for general safety systems, change management requests, and occupational health standards. Mine Emergency Response Team training and Mine Rescue Competition Team Trainer. Coordinate emergency medical training for Kennecott Energy’s Powder River Basin mine sites. Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist. MSHA Instructor & Surface Foreman Certification.  Class B CDL Drivers License with Tanker, HazMat, and Passenger endorsements.

2001-2004	Cordero Rojo Mine Emergency Squad – D Crew.  Captain  2003-2004. Responsible for the administration of professional mine rescue team, certifications, training, budgets, equipment, incident command where appropriate, etc.

		Wallis~McQueary,Inc., Nevada – Co-owner of Internet and Event Representation Firm specializing 	in secure on-line commerce, web site design and implementation, programming, marketing and 	promotional aspects of western and cowboy-oriented events.

		Western Folklife Center, Elko, Nevada – Interim Director of Finance & Operations, for a non-profit 	arts organization. Responsibilities included financial oversight, and day to day operations of the 	Western Folklife Center facility.  Program Manager – Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Office 	Operations, responsibilities included programming and coordination of performers, artists, and staff 	for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering. 

1994-1998	Nevada Arts Council – Artist-in-Residence.  Featured member of Tumblewords: Writers Rolling Around the West. Activities with the Arts Council included several teaching assignments—writing workshops for primary and secondary educators, technology seminars for artists and writers, etc.	

1990-present	Writing/Performing/Consulting –Commissioned to write six poems for the Northern Nevada Symphony who then commissioned composer Gary Buchanan for the musical score of Cattle, Horses, Grass and Sky: the Sagebrush Suite, which was premiered in 1994 and produced again in April, 2005 as a ballet. Toured Great Britain with three other poets as part of the U.K. Year of Literature and Writing.  Other projects include co-editing The Whole Cowboy Catalog, Gibbs Smith, Publisher, and editing, publishing and total project oversight of Surviving the Good Life: A Ranch Woman’s Memories, by Doris Greenough.  Scholarly and creative essays, feature articles, short stories, book reviews, and poetry published in a variety of periodicals.  Two collections of poetry, the most recent being Another Green Grass Lover: Selected Poetry of Sue Wallis, from Dry Crik Press.  Featured performer at cowboy poetry gatherings and other events around the country.  Work included in at least 8 anthologies/recording projects.  Board of Advisors for PBS Series, The United States of Poetry.  Quarter Star Productions, consultant, development of TV show featuring ranch and rodeo characters.  Crumrine Gold and Silversmiths, consultant, provided high-quality poetry for catalog/calendar use. 

	Research Assistant/Student – University of Wyoming. American Studies Program with emphasis on Adult Education.  Truman Scholar.  Numerous merit based scholarships and fellowships.  Designed and directed total horsemanship program for residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed teenagers.

	Worked with cattle buyer and field rep for Superior Livestock Markets – Bought, consigned and received cattle based out of Laramie, Wyoming and manned bidding phones during video auctions in Denver.

1991	Albany County Cow-Belles -- Secretary, Beef Education Committee.

	Appointed by Governor Herschler to the two terms on the Wyoming State Board of Mines. Chair of the Mine Examining Board.

	Planning Committee member and Wyoming Delegate to Women Miners Conference in Beckley, West Virginia.

	Kerr McGee – Jacobs Ranch Mine – While on Labor Crew operated Front End Loader, Backhoe, Haul Truck, Water Truck, Ingersoll Rand Coal Drill, Drilltech Overburden Drill, and worked with Blasting Crew.  Four years as Shovel Oiler & Relief Operator of two sizes of Bucyrus-Erie shovels and 2300 P&H shovels.

1977-1978	Sams Ranches -- Managed 350 cow outfit on Powder River.

		Amax Coal Co. – Belle Ayr Mine – Train Clerk, Prep Plant Labor, Haul Truck Driver.

		US Energy – Roughneck on uranium exploration rig.

		W-W Construction – Co-owner – Short-term (summer) contracts for fencing, seeding and misc. land 	management projects on Campbell County mine sites.

1957-present	Wallis Ranch – Involved with all aspects of family ranch north of Recluse.  Continuing development of permanent home and building a cow herd.
